Hellooo!

I am Klervi (“Claire-vey”), a French award-winning storyteller and actress based in London. I am also a TEFL-certified English Teacher.

A graduate of the prestigious Stella Adler Conservatory in New York, I attended NEOMA Business School and have lived in New York, Los Angeles, London as well as Japan and Russia.

My first English play was awarded a residency at Theatre Deli and premiered in November 2024 after receiving positive feedback from theatres in Chicago and London.

I have trained with Gigi Buffington (vocal coach on Broadway for Slave Play, Tony-Winner Stereophonic, and in London with the National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company) as well as Joe Goscinski (Stella Adler, New York Film Academy)

I am passionate about British and American cultures. Through my travels and side hustles as translator, tour guide, events coordinator, or film executive assistant, I have talked to people from all tracks of life - from the former president of NASA, to A-list casting directors in New York and London, or circus performers in Cambodia.

I can help you converse efficiently and joyfully with anyone that crosses your path.

ABOUT ME

Frequently asked questions

What equipment will I need?

A computer with a camera and a microphone, a notebook, and a good internet connexion. That’s it! I will provide visuals and recordings.

I am really nervous about my accent. I have been mocked a lot. Won't you be laughing too?

Not to worry. Chances are you speak a lot better than you imagine. Besides speaking English is not about perfection, but first and foremost, like with any language, about getting the message across.

Why work with you rather than on an app? a cheaper teacher? a native speaker?

Apps can barely point out major mistakes in pronunciation. Only a human will hear every nuance, and explain to you how to correct it in as many different ways as needed for you to understand. Plus if AI has improved a lot, it still only offers fairly standardized ways to learn.

Do you offer British English or American English coaching?

Both. I have lived and worked extensively in both regions.

My schedule is a bit all over the place. Can I pick and choose different times and days?

Learning a language or an accent is all about consistency. I do recommend regular weekly classes, especially at the beginning. However modern life can be tricky and luckily my schedule is flexible.

If you need to reschedule, no problem. Just give me a 24-hour notice. Otherwise, the session will be charged at the normal rate.

I specialize in French speakers for a good reason: that's where I started too, from absolute zero. With no English-speaking relative, no particular affinity with the language, and with a noticeable stutter way into my adulthood.

I have been where you are. I know what it takes to overcome persisting odds when it comes to voice and speech, and expressing yourself in a different language.

While native speakers naturally use the language effortlessly, they might not fully understand the specific challenges non-native learners face.

Plus make no mistake. Teachers mostly focus on larger clienteles than French speakers. Their methods are geared towards virtually bottomless markets like Indian or Chinese learners aiming for English fluency, or even native speakers wanting to soften regional accents. None of the methodologies out there is meant for a Frenchie. I would know, I tried most of them as a drama student.

Why can't I purchase individual classes for Accent Softening or English Fluency?

Consistency is key in mastering a new skill. If after our initial session you feel like you want more, we need to make sure you stick with it. From experience, unless you are committed both financially and schedule-wise, chances are you won't.
